People Also Ask (PAA) は インプレッション としてカウントされる

People Also Ask（PAA）は、日本でも検索結果ページに表示されるようになったFAQ（Frequently Asked Questions）のようなアコーディオン形式の表示方法です。

通常の検索結果とは異なるため、PAAにサイトが表示されてクリックされた場合はどのように扱われるのか？クリック数として計測されるか？といった疑問が生まれます。

このことについて、2022年2月25日の『Google SEO office-hours』でJohn Mueller氏が回答していました。

People Also Ask（PAA）に関する質問は以下のとおりです。

My question is related to People Also Ask a sub feature which is like present in google.
if a link is like for any of the query if your particular url has been ranked at People Also Ask right is it still counted as a clicks or impression you know if users click on it and how that feature has been like you know added to the search control part?
is it like the clicks and all those things have been tracked or monitored and just to follow up on that what if the users you know click on some other questions and then?
you are very you know gets added to that but like particular list so like how is this things like monitor or calculated like.
is it still counted as a particular rank on the server or it is just of People Also Ask and only the clicks and impression can be calculated?

People Also Askはクリックすると次から次へと新しい質問が出現します。

もしPeople Also Askに自分のリンクが出現してクリックされた場合、ユーザーが新しく出現した他の質問をクリックしていった場合など、People Also Askを検索エンジンがどのように扱っているかといった主旨の質問ですね。

この質問に対するJohn氏の回答は以下です。

The short answer is whenever there is a url shown in the search results.
we do try to show that in search console with the People Also Ask section.

そして以下のように続けています。

it shows a link to your site with kind of that that question and the snippet there that means whenever someone expands that People Also Ask section and shows sees the url for your site then.
that is counted as an impression and it doesn’t matter.
if you’re kind of like the first one and the People Also Ask or people click like 15 different ones and then suddenly your shows up that would be counted as an impression and also when a click happens that.

People Also AskがクリックされてサイトURLが表示されたらインプレッションとなり、その後展開されていったPeople Also Askで表示されればインプレッションとしてカウントされる。

リンクをクリックされればクリックとしてカウントされるなど、インプレッションやクリックなどの考え方は通常の検索結果表示と同じように捉えられるようです。

People Also Askは最初のURLを追跡する

では、People Also AskとしていくつかのURLが検索結果に表示されている場合、それらはどのように扱われるのか。

このあたりについてもJohn氏は言及していました。

The search console the performance report shows from the only thing to watch out for so the performance report shows the ranking of the top most items.
so if you’re listed like different urls are listed multiple times in a search results page it tracks the position of the first one.

サーチコンソールは、あるクエリでの検索結果で上位のものを注視するため別のURLがPeople Also Askで複数表示される場合は、最初のものの位置を追跡するようです。

下位の検索結果がクリックされた場合のカウントはどうなるのか？という疑問も浮かびますが、この回答では言及されていないのでわかりません。

それにしても、People Also Askの普及によってゼロクリック検索が増える可能性があるため、ユーザーにとっては良いものでもWebサイト運営者としてはなかなか厳しくなっていると感じます。

とはいえ、People Also Askにより通常の検索結果以外にもコンテンツが露出する機会があるため、チャンスの拡大につながる可能性もありますね。サイト運営にうまく活かしていきましょう！
